The Philadelphia Housing Authority has received a $232,100 grant from PECO Energy to install solar energy systems at 22 new low-income housing being built in the Philadelphia area.

"This is an example of the many PECO outreach programs in the region to assist low-income residents to better manage and afford their energy costs," said PECO president Dennis O'Brien.

According to PECO, the grant is part of a $500,000 commitment by the company to support solar installations in low-income housing throughout the city.
